That’s the Asheville celebrity sighting and Twitter rumor of the day – that foodie Anthony Bourdain and comedian Dave Chappelle are bopping around Asheville. Not together, apparently. Could be a load of crap. But if anybody really sees ’em, tweet me @ashevegas, and I’ll track ’em down.

I was in Asheville. A dude I know who recently got his pilot's liscence flew there, and invited me along. Although I've never been to Asheville before, I saw a special on 20/20 several years ago that named Asheville the happiest place in the United States.
I had coffee at Havana. Ate at the Magic Mushroom. Stopped at urban outfitter, and ran into Larry the Cable Guy at the airport.
I did meet that smiling Dave guy who apparently was a friend of my friend's friend.
Scully's was cool. I actually met some cool people there, and over all, thought people were really considerate about my personal space, with very few exceptions.I was there for a total of around 16 hours.
My girlfriend served Anthony Bourdain at Bistro1896 that night. He sat in the lounge area of the restaurant and had the calamari and a beer.
Dave Chappelle was definitely in asheville. He had dinner with Smilin' Dave (Bartender at Scully's) at the Mellow Mushroom then came down to Scully's so Smilin' Dave could clock in for his shift. It was awesome, but sad at the same time. Chappelle would have stayed longer but everyone kept bombarding him and he eventually got tired of all the stupid girls interupting his conversations to ask if they could touch him. WAY TO GO LADIES> Anyway, he's is a nice guy and seemed to enjoy the light buzz and appreciation. He would not take any pictures or sign a bunch of autographs.
The rumor is that Bryan Freeborn is best friends with Chappelle, and foodie Anthony Bourdain is making food at Bryan's house for his whole family. Also Chappelle will be there for dinner. 🙂
My co-worker ran into Chapelle at Mellow Mushroom Saturday night.
It's secondhand on my part, but several of my friends have posted on FB that they've seen Dave Chappelle around town, specifically at some breakdance competition or some such a couple days ago. I'd love it if Anthony Bourdain was in town!! Love to see an Asheville episode of No Reservations!
Several people tweeted Sat night that Chappelle was in town and spent the evening at Scully's. Eyewitness twitter report about Scully's & lots of chatter. One person said he was on vacation here, another that he was here for the B-Boy competition at the YMI.
As far as Bourdain, I think I saw one mention and nothing else.
