Rena, I haven’t seen the movie, but I did listen to Andie talk about it in a panel discussion Saturday afternoon. So I’m pre-judging here, but …
Andie said her role was only partially improvised. She said she had some "restrictions" on how far off she could go. And honestly, I don’t think Andie’s really got the acting chops to do go improv all the way and be successful.
But i would like to see it. Thanks for mentioning it. did i mention that i’m in love with Andie?

Did anyone see Andie McDowell’s "Intervention"? What did y’all think of it?
I love Andie and her acting was good, but the cinematography was of poor quality and depressing and I hated the music. With all the amazing, interesting and talented composers in Asheville and the rest of the world, how could they have chosen such a boring and annoying background noise?
There was nothing unusual about the subject matter of the story; how many "intervention" plots are out there already? What was unusual was that the movie was unscripted and the acting was spontaneous and improvised.
So, as an experimental project, I would grade it as worthwhile to see, especially if you are a cinema freak, that is if you can overlook the glaring flaws.
To be fair, Andie did say that when she previewed the film, both the sound (not the soundtrack) and the film quality were much better. What is wrong with the equipment at Diana Wortham????
