Ashvegas celebrity spotting: ‘Dexter’ actor Hall spotted in Asheville

Actor Michael C. Hall, star of the Showtime series Dexter, was spotted this week in Asheville, according to loyal reader Kirsten. She writes that Hall was in town to visit his mother.

Hall has been busy these days. He’s got a Netflix thriller called Safe that’s getting great reviews, and he’s apparently signed on to join the cast of another Netflix thriller called In The Shadow of the Moon. 

The actor is also accomplished on the stage. A couple of years ago, Hall landed the lead in David Bowie’s musical Lazarus. The show had a short Broadway run. Fans will also remember Hall’s outstanding work on HBO’s Six Feet Under.

Hall is no stranger to North Carolina. In fact, he grew up in Raleigh before going to college in Indiana and then studying acting at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. His mother worked as a Lees-McRae College guidance counselor in Banner Elk.
