Bryan Cranston, his wife Robin Dearden and his daughter Taylor Dearden hosted a dinner at the Smoky Park Supper Club tonight. Taylor is a rising star. Also in attendance were actors Pamela Bowen Stanley (ex-wife of Ace Stanley from the band Kiss), Elizabeth Burr (former soap opera star), and local actors Kelley Hinman, Callan White-Hinman, and Catori Swan, as well as about a 15 other people.
Cranston has a unique Asheville connection, which we’ve chronicled here before. Last summer, Cranston was in Asheville for the private memorial service of family friend Louan Gideon, who died in February. (The service was held in Black Mountain.) Gideon was a former television actress with a long career on the soap Search for Tomorrow, as well as appearances on everything from Third Rock from the Sun andBeverly Hills 90210 to Nightcourt. Gideon, who moved to Asheville to care for her mother, fought breast cancer and became active in a number of cancer-related causes.
Cranston also gave a private talk at the Asheville acting school New York Studio for Stage and Screen in Woodfin while he was in Asheville last summer.
Here’s more background about Taylor Dearden Cranston, who had a little cameo on Breaking Bad.
