-This week, McKibbon Hospitality will celebrate the accomplishments of Glen W. Wilcox Sr., longtime tenant and owner of the BB&T building in downtown Asheville. Here’s the media advisory for Tuesday at 10 a.m.:
Join McKibbon Hospitality to celebrate a significant milestone at the former BB&T building in downtown Asheville as long-time tenant and building owner Glenn W. Wilcox Sr. moves out ahead of the interior building demolition. Wilcox has occupied the building for more than 50 years and, along with John McKibbon, is developing a mixed-use project on the site that includes a boutique hotel, condominiums, a restaurant and bar, parking and retail space for lease. The project is scheduled for completion in 2018. Wilcox has been a successful entrepreneur as chairman and president of Tower Associates, founder of Wilcox World Travel and Tours and founder of Blue Ridge Printing Company. In addition to running several successful businesses, Mr. Wilcox has been and continues to be an integral part of Asheville’s growth and development. His leaving the former BB&T building for the last time marks the start of a new era at One West Pack Square as this iconic site is set to begin its transformation into an exciting new development for Asheville locals and visitors.
