Asheville’s Smiling Hara asks public for $20,000 to help it make tempeh from hemp seeds

Here’s the press release rundown. A great Asheville business to support:

There’s only 3 weeks left for the Smiling Hara Kickstarter for “Hempeh”–tempeh made with hemp seeds grown by war veterans in the Growing Warriors Project. Right now we’re at 28% funding and we’ve got some exciting things coming up that I hope you’ll share on Ashvegas.

1. The Kickstarter staff chose Hempeh as a staff pick! We have some awesome backer rewards and encourage everyone to check it out and support Hempeh. Every bit helps! Here’s the link for the Hempeh Kickstarter.

2.  The Hempeh Hop is up and running and locals can get the first taste of Hempeh at the following restaurants. It was so popular at Rosetta’s (where it debuted) that it sold out in just a few days.

Hempeh Hop Schedule
Oct 20-26: Overeasy Cafe
Oct 27-Nov 6: Plant
