Press release here, courtesy of loyal reader Brandy:

Hi Jason,

I’ve spoken to you a couple of times, you posted my studio Planet Art’s opening (thank you!), and then I’ve bumped into you at the Go Local thingy at The Hop and in Reciprocity. I am part of the Second Saturday committee for the River Arts District. We are launching “Second Saturday” April 14 throughout the River Arts District. This is a collaboration between the RAD and the CVB to get folks to come to Asheville for their art fix, starting with the RAD and expanding regionally. “Mini Studio Strolls” will be happening every Second Saturday in the RAD. Will you please post the following blurb? I imbedded the Second Saturday logo if you can use it.

Saturday April 14, the River Arts District Artists (RADA) are launching Second Saturday in the River Arts District. This is in response to the innumerable requests from tourists and locals who asked, “Can’t you do Studio Strolls every month?” You asked for it, you got it!

Join us every Second Saturday from April-December…look for the yellow pennants outside the studios. The theme for 2012 is “A Closer Look.” Explore the River Arts District studios in a more intimate setting than the popular Studio Strolls. Get A Closer Look…at River Arts District artists, their studios, and their creative process. Find more open studios on Second Saturdays. Participate in special events and educational opportunities. Shop for inspiring art and unique gifts on the Second Saturday of each month and all year long in the River Arts District! The popular Studio Strolls will still occur the Second Saturday of June and November. For more information, visit the new and improved River Arts District website.
