The owners of the French Broad Chocolate Lounge, Dan and Jael Rattigan, report that their highly anticipated chocolate lounge is up and running. I had heard that they had recently received their first 5,000-pound shipment of cacao beans. The new facility on Buxton Avenue features a chocolate factory and a tasting room to complement the chocolate lounge location on Lexington Avenue.
Here’s what they said on Twitter on Thursday:
we passed final inspections on our factory, have received our official Certificate of Occupancy, and production starts…NOW!! Woo!
There’s plenty more awesomeness at the new French Broad chocolate factory, including a solar bean roaster invented by Dan. Can’t wait to check it out.
