Asheville Scene: LAB chef’s new restaurant, Biscuit Head, to open in West Asheville

Oh my. According to Mackensy Lunsford and Asheville Scene, Lexington Avenue Brewery Executive Chef Jason Roy has found a home for his new restaurant concept, Biscuit Head. Biscuit Head will move to the space formerly occupied by Tolliver’s Crossing, which is moving to Asheville’s up-and-coming South Slope area south of downtown.

From Scene, the scoop on the biscuit-themed restaurant. Look for it in April or May:

Roy calls his new venture a “gourmet, brunch-style biscuit cafe.” Besides biscuits, the beverage program will receive special attention, he said. Biscuit Head will have a selection homemade sodas, smoothies and juices and creative champagne cocktails and local beers.

Everything on the menu, from breakfast to dessert, will have a biscuit base, with several options available. “We’re trying to nail down a gluten-free biscuit, a regular biscuit, whole wheat biscuit and a biscuit of the day, every day,” he said. The most unique feature, according to Roy, will be the jam bar.

Roy said the restaurant will be open six days a week, serving one meal only: Brunch. I like this place already.

Biscuit Head description on Facebook:

BISCUIT HEAD will offer a unique and gourmet breakfast experience, while remaining affordable. Handmade biscuits and sides will be served in a friendly and inviting atmosphere with products that have been locally sourced and creatively assembled. Our food and service will provide an atmosphere of southern hospitality with a playful and urban touch.

“Formally” occupied by Tolliver’s Crossing? I just had a beer there last week. Has Tolliver’s closed down? I do like the concept this restaurant is laying out and hope it does well!
