Asheville man launches beer education business, BREW-ed

Here’s the note from loyal reader Cliff:

Hello,

I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know about BREW-ed. My name is Cliff Mori and I just launched a new beer education resource for WNC. I have been teaching the majority of the beer education courses at AB-Tech for the past several months, and I also work as an exam proctor for the Cicerone Certification Program.

My goal with BREW-ed is two-fold. Through staff training at Asheville’s restaurants and bars I hope to improve the level of beer service and education in our city. I have been working with AIR over the past few months to put more informed servers and bartenders behind the pints, and I intend to expand that program significantly over the next year.

Also, I hope to bring the community even closer together around one of our major industries through private events, beer dinners, tasting workshops and tours. The walking tours I offer involve a mix of Asheville history and beer knowledge. Each walking tour is three hours long and will stop at three different breweries downtown. Between stops we will stroll leisurely through downtown and participants will learn about the history of Asheville. If you’d like to learn more, please let me know. My website is www.brew-ed.com, or I can be reached at this e-mail address. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Cliff Mori
