Asheville Humane Society to cut ribbon on new animal care facility on Sept. 14

Asheville Humane Society and Buncombe County Government announce the grand opening of the new Animal Care Campus, located at 14 & 16 Forever Friend Lane. The celebration will begin on Tuesday, September 14 at 11a.m. with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce.  AHS Board Chair Rick Clark, County Commission Chairman David Gantt, Sheriff Van Duncan and AB Tech President Dr. Hank Dunn will give remarks. This will be followed by an open house with public tours of the Animal Care Campus which includes the Buncombe County Animal Shelter, Buncombe County Animal Control, A-B Tech Veterinary Medical Technology Program and the Asheville Humane Society Adoption & Education Center. The event is free and open to the public.

WHO: Rick Clark, Asheville Humane Society Board Chair; David Gantt, Buncombe County Commission Chairman; Van Duncan, Sheriff and Dr. Hank Dunn, Asheville Buncombe Technical College President, to give remarks at opening ceremony and ribbon cutting.

WHAT: Animal Care Campus Grand Opening

WHEN: Tuesday, September 14; ribbon cutting at 11a.m., followed by interview opportunities and facility tours for media; open house with public tours from 12p.m.- 8p.m.

WHERE: Animal Care Campus, 14 & 16 Forever Friend Lane, Asheville NC 28806. The campus is located at Interstate 26 and Brevard Road, off Pond Road and behind Deal Motor Cars. 

WHY: To celebrate the grand opening of the Animal Care Campus, a collaboration between Buncombe County Government and Asheville Humane Society, serving the homeless animals of this area.
