Here’s the info on the Asheville Fountain Project:

Our Goal:

To complete a large scale work of public art, a granite fountain designed by award winning local sculptor Justin Blowers. Upon completion, the fountain will be presented as a gift to the Citizens of Asheville, NC. The centerpiece for the fountain, a regal six foot tall granite sculpture, has already been donated to the project by Justin. We need your help to build the rest of it!

Helping Our City:

Asheville citizens are well known for our enduring love of the arts, a fact that is made evident simply by walking through town. By raising our own money directly, rather than relying on the limited tax funds available for public art, we as citizens are not just further beautifying our home, but also assisting our Public Art and Cultural Commission in their recent efforts to direct resources towards the maintenance and upkeep of older existing public landmarks. The fountain will exist as a testament to the citizens who choose to support it’s creation. Even before completion, the already finished centerpiece represents an asset to the city valued at approximately $10,000, with no initial expense to the tax payer. Every effort in the construction of the fountain will be made with the goal of minimizing operating and maintenance costs wherever possible.
