I just received an email alert from Asheville City Councilman Cecil Bothwell that he’ll appear on the Rachel Maddow Show tonight at 9:45 p.m.
As the story about his religious beliefs, and how that does or does not affect his ability to serve in public office, continues to run rampant, here’s Bothwell’s itinerary:
Monday, Dec. 14: 9:45 p.m., Rachel Maddow (MSNBC)
Tuesday, Dec. 15: 8:30 a.m. Bill Press (880 The Revolution, in Asheville: Air America Network)
Wednesday, Dec. 16: 5 p.m. Matt Mittan (570 AM, Asheville)

God bless Cecil Bothwell: A rationalist in this irrational world!
I watched the segment of the program that’s posted online. He didn’t get to appear, other than in a video clip of him affirming his committment to upholding Asheville’s interests (or something like that) instead of swearing "So help me God."
It was interesting. They referenced his opposition as HK and a conservative newspaper editor. I wonder who that was? I was guessing Asheville Daily Planet or Asheville Tribune, but a quick scan of their online versions do not mention this.
MSNBC couldn’t find a camera truck or a studio (in their corporate reach) closer than Charlotte, and by the time they figured that out it was too late to drive there, (let alone consider it). Ah, well. Rachel will have to wait.
False advertising. He wasn’t on the show. Did he lie about being on, or chicken out at the last minute, or did he have technical difficulties?
