Ashevegas the soccer team participates in 1st Annual Beer City Cup soccer tournament

Here’s the great note I received from Clay, a member of the team and their organizer:

Hey Jason,

Hope all is well.  You may have heard that this past weekend, Asheville hosted the 1st Annual Beer City Cup soccer tournament with over $3000.00 in total prize money (I believe $3750 to be exact).  The Open division prize alone was $2000.00.

The format is similar to the format we run locally over the summer; 8 versus 8, somewhat smaller field and goal dimensions, and no Off-sides.

21 teams were involved with nearly half that being from out of town (Hickory, Charleston, Charlotte, Atlanta). Three divisions were represented with Co-Ed, Over 30 and Open (18 and older, no pros, no other restrictions).

Attached is our team photo from the tournament team (it was modestly different than our normal team as several of our regulars were playing in the Open division for the big money).

Thanks Jason,

Clay

Good observation Lana. However, regardless of our sponsor's spelling of his website, we the team, are truly very grateful for his support and the support the general soccer community in Asheville at large gives to all the various teams and players. Thanks again. Our small town truly has a great Soccer community that rivals even the larger cities like Charlotte.

Smart people. They correctly spelled the team name with an "E"!
