The Arc of Buncombe County is pleased to announce that it will be hosting an Open House on Monday December 6, 2010 from 3:30 – 5:00 P.M. Members of the public are invited to come down and meet the staff, including Executive Director Terry Bellamy and members of the non-profit organization’s Board of Directors. The Arc of Buncombe County’s offices are located in downtown Asheville at 50 S. French Broad Ave. (The United Way building), Suite 257.
Since 1957 the Arc of Buncombe County has been empowering persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities to realize their highest potential through advocacy, education, programs and family support. The December 6th Open House is an opportunity for the public to learn more about the organization’s work in the local community. This year marks the 15th anniversary of Arc of Buncombe County’s Operation Santa — a program that has provided Christmas gifts to thousands of economically disadvantaged clients over the years.
Executive Director Terry Bellamy notes, “We really hope people can come down and learn about us and the exciting things we are doing.”
