There’s yet another new WLOSer to introduce. Edward McDonald, from here on out also known as “The Suit,” has joined the WLOSer sports team. We saw him Thursday night doing a story about an upcoming Brevard College-Mars Hill College football game. Even in the rain, Edward was sporting one fine suit.
We searched and searched and searched and couldn’t find much. Looked like there might have been a mention of him working for WALA-TV Fox (Channel 10) in Pensacola, and another mention of him working for Fox Sports South. But we couldn’t come up with anything tangible. If you come across anything, let us know.
This is the first time in three or four years that WLOS has had an African-American reporter. We’re not counting Diva Darcel, who is a news reader and hasn’t actually reported a story in decades. The last black reporter for WLOS was Dave “The Preacher” Smith, who favored a panama hat and a trench coat. Before that, there was a black woman who worked as a reporter. Can’t remember her name, but then NAACP chapter president H.K. Edgerton gave her some kind of award because he loved her so much.
