WLOSer Russ Bowen!
The Southeast Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences 2006 Southeast Regional Emmy Awards winners were announced this past weekend, and Russ took the prize.
Russ was awarded for his story last year on the east Waynesville preacher who kicked Democrats out of his church. Remember that one? That was a classic. Russ broke the story, then ran with it. He covered it extremely well. This past weekend, Russ’ colleagues congratulated him on air, and he was very humble about it. Great job, Russ!
We saw that Mike “Cuervo” Cuevas and Larry “Gloryhole” Blunt were nominated in other categories, but did not win.
