Peace rally
WLOSer Kassandra “Special K” Pride went to Pack Square, where she said a few dozen people had gathered to rally for peace and against President Bush’s plan to send more troops to Iraq.
Kassandra held their balloons and read their signs and quoted a couple of people saying its time to bring the troops home. Kassandra also talked to a guy on a motorcycle rigged with a sign that we couldn’t read. The guy said if our forefathers were “cowards like these people, we’d all be speaking German or something.”
The rally in Ashvegas coincided with a rally that drew tens of thousands protesting war in Washington, D.C., on Saturday.
Bad wreck
There was a head-on collision on Leicester Highway Saturday night that left a pick-up and a car in a mangled, burning mess. The driver of each vehicle had to be cut out and taken to the hospital. No word on conditions.

For this morning’s (Monday) 5am news Jay said he remembered the derby as a Cub scout. He said his car was the only one that crashed.
Pine Wood Derby news on Saturday AND Monday? Wow. Well, every 3 minutes this morning they’re talking about the weather, so I guess there is no other "real" news today except the cold.
Oh, and a wind chill of -8 to start the morning off.
Sherrill Barber’s face was bright red while reporting live outside (on the side of what looked like Long Shoals Rd).
