Here’s a little news from the tube on Thursday:
Fugitive still on the loose
A fugitive may still be roaming the streets of Ashvegas, WLOSers said. Have you seen this man? they asked. Carolyn Ryan answered that “many people” say they have, but there have been no “confirmed” sightings of Anthony Ray Artrip, an FBI’s most wanted. The dude escaped from prison in Kentucky, where he was serving time for armed bank robbery.
Ryan said some branch of Blue Ridge Savings Bank made everybody go through the drive-through after seeing what they thought was a guy casing their joint, a brach office that is little more than a tomato can trailer. Asheville Police Dept. Capt. Tim Splain said there might have been a sighting at a bank on Smoky Park Hwy.
Murder trial continues
The trial of John Beavers, accused of shooting and killing Dr. Brian Ling, continued Thursday. In court, Beavers took the stand and said he smoked crack before going to meet with Ling, who had been caring for Beavers’ son, who died under doctors’ care. Beavers said he went to the meeting with Ling with a loaded gun knowing that one or both of them wouldn’t be leaving alive.
Pain management center shuttered
Park Ridge suddenly closed a pain management center on Hendersonville Road, said Frank Fraboni. Fraboni even knocked on the front door and said “Hello? Hello?” to show us how closed the place was. Park Ridge said there were concerns over “documentation” at the center.
There was a police car parked outside the center, and Fraboni talked to a couple of people who were surprised that the place was closed.
In other news…
West Asheville residents walked to “take back” their neighborhood. They walked the Michigan Ave. and Pennsylvania Ave. ‘hood… And a 7-year-old Weaverville girl was hit by a car after stepping off a school bus. She was rushed to the hospital. Weaverville police said the driver was a friend of the girl’s family.

Beavers basically just ruined any chances for avoiding first degree murder.
Crack is not an insanity defense, this guy is a moron, and his lawyer is insane if thats what he coached him to say on the stand.
