A little bit of news

Looks like this week is trial week, according to WLOSers. Gail Gash, the woman accused of killing her husband, a former fire chief down in Henderson County, goes on trial. The hubby’s body parts were found strewn along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

WLOSers are making a big deal out of a federal trial of a former mailman down in Mack-Dowell County accussed of stealing thousands of dollars out of the mail. And the attempted murder trial of Jim Tedesco starts this week. Remember him? He’s the insurance company owner who met a couple of business partners at work and is accused of shooting them. They survived.

On Sunday, Russ “Beefcake” Bowen re-ran stories WLOSers had played all weekend – there’s flu in Yancey County and homeless people are really cold. That was about it.

It will be interesting to see how WLOSers do covering the election. And remember, this is sweeps, so we’ll have to keep our eye on what else might pop up.
