A crew from the popular UNC-TV show A Chef’s Life spent a few days at Biltmore Estate recently to film a new episode of the show, which just started its fourth season.

The show follows the ups and downs of chef Vivian Howard and her husband, Ben, who own The Chef and the Farmer restaurant in Kinston, N.C. Viewers get a behind-the-scenes look at the couple as they work through issues big and small with the restaurant, while also getting an up-close view of Howard’s approach to Southern cooking. The series also shows the story of the couples’ connection to family and community.

At the Biltmore Estate, Howard met and talked with various farmers at the estate about everything from growing grapes for its popular winery to hydroponic farming.

Here are a couple of excerpts from social media platforms Instagram and Facebook about the visit. From the @achefslife Instagram account:

“In 1895, George W. Vanderbilt created Biltmore as an escape from everyday life for family and friends.” #TeamChef’s experience at Biltmore has been just that. An escape. We are obsessed with the light streaming into this house. A cinematic/photographic dreamland.
