Plans for a major water line project are moving ahead, according to a public notice. The town of Mars Hill “line interconnection” with the town of Weaverville will cost $2 million in taxpayers’ dollars and involve the installation of 20,300 linear feet (or nearly 4 miles) of 8-inch and 12-inch water pipes and a water booster pump station with meter. That’s a big project. The water line will be installed along N.C. Highway 213 and a number of state roads.
A recent notice announces that the project will not have a significant impact on the environment and requests the release of funds to pay for the project.
