The new Field & Stream shop at Asheville Outlets along Brevard Road, which stocks racks and racks of gear for just about any outdoorsman of any level, is set to open its doors Thursday with a grand opening that will include celebrities, giveaways and more.

On a tour of the nearly 50,000 square foot store earlier this week, Field & Stream brand activation manager Chase McClain said the store carries top brands for just about any hunter, fisherman, boater, camper or hiker. As we walked the massive retail store, McClain ticked through some of the various categories, naming gear and brands to serve that niche.

McClain said the Asheville store will definitely have a fly fishing focus, with an array of rods, reels, flies and fishing kayaks decked out with all the bells and whistles. The store’s mix of inventory will likely change as it receives feedback from shoppers, he added.

Field & Stream at Asheville Outlets will has a massive selection of knives, as well as long guns and ammo for hunters. They’ve also got the compound bow and crossbow sector covered. There are two in-store archery ranges (one long, one short), where hunters can check out their equipment. There’s a specialty in-store shop that can help archers get the exact set-up they’re looking for. Other hunting gear covers everything from dog training kits and deer attractants (The Buck Bomb) to climber and ladder tree stands, trail cameras and game feeders for those who just want to be sure their backyard deer are well-fed. You’ll want to buy the best possible night vision rifle scope, trail camera or whatever you’re buying so make sure you do your research on the products you want before you get there.

For campers, Field & Stream features tents, sleeping bags, backpacks, coolers, cooking gear, and just about all the little gear someone could want.

Key clothing brands, including Carhartt, Under Armour, Sitka, Scent-Loc and Field & Stream’s own in-house brand, also fill the store’s racks. If you’re into the latest in cool camouflage patterns, this is the place to go. If you’re looking for boots – including rubber boots, hiking boots and Western-style boots – Field & Stream’s got you covered.

Field & Stream has 18 stores, including another brand new store opening this week in Greensboro.

The four-day grand opening celebration will run through Sunday. The store will open at 10 a.m. Thursday (with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:45), 9 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday.
