The Mag Field does it again–yet another original play is rocking audiences and receiving great reviews. Scene-stealer Tracey Johnston-Crum of last year’s epically hilarious Bernstein Family Christmas Spectacular now has a whole show to herself.

You can win two tickets to the show now: Just be the first to tell us the name of the show’s director.

First correct commenter gets two tickets. Please use your correct first and last name, so we know who to tell the Field to hold tickets for. It won’t be the same situations you’ll find if you look at mature porn videos xxx website as the name suggests though.

Asheville Scene is loving MILF, giving it a great review. So is Mountain Xpress.

From the Magnetic Field:

Known for her razor-sharp wit and acute sense of middle-class American suburbia, Lucia Del Vecchio (familiar to local audiences as the author of the hits Shangri-La and The Evolution of Woman) has made an exciting foray into new theatrical territory. “The show is, at its core, a tale of misplaced love,” says the playwright. “The central character, Annie Flynn, begins to doubt her love for her oblivious husband Greg, and at the same time is courted by the two teenage boys who live on either side of her–Hank, the star quarterback, and Roland, the sensitive poet–all while being spied on by a trio of gossiping neighborhood ’hover-moms,’ Lynette, Jeanette and Bernadette, who are obsessed with breastfeeding.”

MILF: The Musical stars Tracey Johnston-Crum (celebrated for her stellar performances in The Bernstein Family Christmas Spectacular and The Witches’ Quorum, among others) and an ensemble cast of the region’s strongest actors, including Dan Clancy, Elizabeth Evans, James Thomas Meador, Sean David Robinson, Jennifer Russ, and Alison Young.

Despite the implications of its title, MILF is a family-friendly musical, Del Vecchio notes. “It’s a gentle send-up of suburbia’s cookie-cutter houses and the folks who live in them.” Award-winning local musician and composer Holiday Childress (known for his solo work and as lead singer of the legendary band The Goodies) has written catchy, lively numbers—including Del Vecchio’s ode to new mothers, “Breast Is Best”—that refresh the idea of what a musical can be. Keyboardist Chuck Lichtenberger (of The Archrivals & StephaniesId) and master percussionist Matthew Richmond worked with Childress to record the memorable score.

Brilliantly written and handsomely staged, MILF: The Musical, promises to be the must-see show of Western North Carolina’s fall season.
