Come taste the “Tyranny Red Ale which runs 7.2% and is loaded full of dank, west coast hop flavor and our Saison I, a farmhouse style ale that clocks in at 6.2% and is loaded with citrus and pepper notes.”

Wicked Weed started attracting attention for its beer way back in September, when it took People’s Choice honors for its beer entry at Brewgrass 2012–no small feat for a brand-new brewer on the scene.

Wicked Weed’s official opening at its new brewpub is Friday December 28 at 5 p.m. But you can check out the new brews this Friday at Thirsty Monk downtown, 5:30 – 7 p.m.

From Wicked Weed on Facebook:

Join us at the Thirsty Monk on 12/21 from 5:30 – 7:00pm and be able to tell your neighbors (…friends, siblings, parents, significant other and any other person you want to impress/have a leg up on/mock) that YOU drank one of the first pints of beer we ever sold!

Yes, 12/21 is the apocolypse and the potential end of the world. We couldn’t think of a better way to distract ourselves and all our Facebook/Twitter friends from this fact than to release two killer beers (…sorry, pun intended) at our favorite beer bar in Asheville, the Thirsty Monk.

We will have two kegs of beer pouring, the Tyranny Red Ale which runs 7.2% and is loaded full of dank, west coast hop flavor and our Saison I, a farmhouse style ale that clocks in at 6.2% and is loaded with citrus and pepper notes.
