Here’s a quick look at what’s happening at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino, the state’s biggest tourist attraction that’s not far from Asheville:
Justin Moore concert: Moore’s first single, Back That Thing Up, was released and made it onto the country Top 40 charts. A second single, the autobiographically apt Small Town USA, was released in February 2009. It topped the charts and paved the way for his self-titled debut, Justin Moore, which became a Top 10 success. In 2011, Moore returned armed with other Top Ten country hits, Backwoods, and If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away, plus a second studio album, Outlaws Like Me. Justin Moore.

Gift card launched: Harrah’s Cherokee Casino recently launched a new gift card that will offer guests the option to use the card in Harrah’s restaurants, bars, retail shops, and valet or may be cashed out at the Casino Cashier Cages. The gift card will have no activation or servicing fees, no expiration dates and the option to be re-loaded. The Harrah’s Cherokee Casino & Hotel’s gift card may be purchased with cash or with a personal credit card at any of the retail outlets on property for up to $500 or at the Casino Cashier Cages for up to $3,000.
Volunteer work: Harrah’s Cherokee Casino & Hotels’ HERO volunteers planted a garden at Kituwah Fields recently. Volunteers from various departments at Harrah’s Cherokee participated in the planting along with A.C. and Susie Honeycutt from Fields of Hope in Asheville and Cindy Threlkeld, Executive Director of Manna Food Bank. Kevin Welch and Sarah McClellan Welch from the Cherokee Cooperative Extension Office were on hand and have been advisors for the program to ensure the success of the garden.
