Our VOICE, the Buncombe County Rape Crisis and Prevention Center, is thrilled to report on the outstanding success of the 4th Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes held on Saturday April 27th. The rain held off until right after the event and the approximately 500 in attendance engaged in some lighthearted fun. $35,000 was raised for Our VOICE and the award winners from the event were as follows:

Top Fundraiser = Adrian Vassallo, Dixon Hughes Goodman

Top Team Fundraiser = Make Noise (owners Kelly Kelbel and Tony Rolando)

First Place Finisher = Adrian Vassallo, Dixon Hughes Goodman

First Place Team Finishers = The Hop Ice Cream Café

Most Spirited = David Cohen

Most Spirited Team = Appalachian Foot & Ankle

Our VOICE is once again thrilled with the amount of community support around this event, so thankful to all of the event sponsors and is looking forward to the 5th Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes next April in celebration of the agency’s 40 years of service to victims of sexual violence in our community.
