As usual, there’s a whole lot going on this weekend. Here’s what’s on our radar this time around!

Friday—Sunday

Hatch This!, a weekend-long entrepreneurial competition, kicks off tonight at 5:30 and ends with a pitch party and winner announcement on Sunday. Teams will compete for $15,000 in seed money and a space to open a brand new business in town.

Christmas at Biltmore brings the beloved celebration to the largest private home in the United States, when the Biltmore House is decorated with dozens of Christmas trees, including a giant Norway spruce on the Front Lawn. Starts Friday and continues through January 6.

Friday

Revolve hosts the annual fundraiser for the Asheville Butoh Collective. From 6-8 pm, join butoh enthusiasts for sushi, sake, and a special live performance of “Dirt, Dreams, and Death.” Donate to the Collective on their Indiegogo.

Tina and Her Pony celebrate their new album, Champion, at a release show at the Mothlight that begins at 8 pm with an exhibition from artist Jacqueline Maloney, who completed a work of art for each song on the album.

Saturday

The Festival of Artistry at Wicked Weed will bring arts and music to the downtown brewery and restaurant with 30 arts vendors and more. Of Montreal, RBTS WIN, The Goodies, and Marley Carroll perform. Free. Starts at noon.

Hi-Wire Brewing brings back the Annual Stout Bout Festival for the third year at their Big Top Production Facility. $10 gets you a glass and two beer tokens. 1-5 pm.

The biography of Jane Goodall, Jane, opens at Grail Moviehouse this weekend, but Saturday at 7 pm is a great night to go: There will be an intro and post-film Q&A with Dr. Joseph Feldblum, Gombe Researcher and Postdoctoral Associate at Duke University. This doc is already garnering acclaim!

Sunday

Marshall’s Annual Ferment Festival brings demos, presentations, and vendors together to talk about fermentation for this free event. A special beer will be released from Mad Co. Brewing.

It’s the last day to stop by Trade & Lore’s Day of the Dead pop-up and get sweet arts, crafts, and treats, plus tarot reading, face painting, and drink specials.
