Steep Canyon Rangers accept their award

Asheville had three Grammy nominations this year: Steep Canyon Rangers were up for for Best Bluegrass Album, the Zac Brown Band for Best Country Album, and the Avett Brothers for Best Americana Album.

Steep Canyon Rangers are from Brevard,  the Avetts are Honorary Ashevillians (at worst), and all three releases were recorded here in Asheville.

Here’s how it all shook out:

Congrats to the Steep Canyon Rangers on their very first Grammy!

Congrats also to the Zac Brown Band, winning Best Country Album for it’s recorded-in Asheville release, Uncaged. More on their time in Asheville here.

Condolences to the Avetts. Ain’t no shame in losing to Bonnie Raitt.

Further congratulations to downtown Asheville’s Echo Mountain Recording Studio, where all three of these Grammy-nominated albums were recorded. Here’s to many more years of success to our Asheville Grammy nominees, and to everyone at Echo Mountain.
