Monday, June 18 – Jack White’s latest discovery The Black Belles hit the Emerald Lounge w/ The Coathangers and Zombie Queen (show detailshere).

Saturday, June 23 – Nashville indie-rockers Paper Route come to town with Halfnoise (feat Zac Farro from Paramore), whose new video is getting some nice buzz at SpinAlternative Press, etc. (show details here).

Friday, June 29 – Really impressive Pennsylvania bluegrass/Americana act Cabinet co-headlines with Nashville’s Kansas Bible Company (show details here).

Tuesday, July 3 – These United States bring their melting pot of rock-and-roll, psych pop, folk balladry, and outlaw country to the Emerald Lounge. They’ve been getting some great buzz at NPR, etc. (show details here).

Friday, July 13 – Iconic indie veterans (and Sub Pop recording artists) Fruit Bats come to Asheville and join up w/ local faves Floating Action (show details here).

Sunday, July 15 – Nicolay (half of The Foreign Exchange, who just played a packed show here last week) joins The Hot at Nights on stage at the Emerald Lounge (show details here).

Friday, July 20 – Kovacs and the Polar Bear headlines our Post-“Downtown After 5” party (show details here).

Sunday, July 22 – Deerhunter guitarist Lockett Pundt brings his new project Lotus Plaza to Asheville, w/ some great support from Beach Day andBrandon Cunningham (show details here).

Friday/Saturday July 27-28 – The Emerald Lounge celebrates Bele Chere by hosting Asheville’s biggest hip hop event of the year, the two-day GurpFest featuring: Adam Strange, DJ Football, Al Lover, Eddie K, TOPR, Weekend Cult (formerly Fist Fam), Ra Mak, Chris Donato, Optik, Free Radio (formerly Ville Boyz), Z-Man, and GFE (details for Day 1 here, details for Day 2 here).
