Hi WAX! I hope you’re doing well, and that your week is off to a good start! Tonight Dawn and I got the chicken wings and many other items from Gan Shan West! I went for the “Japanese dry rub” wings. No regrets. They we crispy, salty, slightly spicy, and the even got Dawn’s approval. She’s a harsher food critic than I am, so take that into account The spring rolls were amazingly super crispy, like, the crispiest, and the Chinese broccoli was excellent. I was too full to eat my pork belly steamed bun, but I took a bite of the pork belly and it was gooooooooood! I’ll hit it up later. I let Dawn eat all the dumplings, since she doesn’t eat deep fried things, which was half of everything. She only took two bites of a chicken wing, BTW, because of the deep fried factor, but was, like, “Mmm, yeah, that’s good, I approve.” Rick and I will be talking about the wings on the next AVL Wing Thing podcast, and hopefully we will also be joined by Jennie Townsend, my boss at Kickbackavl, who said she was gonna get the wings too, even though Gan Shan isn’t signed up with us! LOL  ❤ U Jennie!

The photo above does not do justice to the deliciousness of this dish! Once I stirred it all up, it was SO creamy and saucy and good. I’ve been craving it ever since.


SWEET SOUTHERN FUNK

Gah!!! Curry dry rub wings, BBQ wings, chicken tenders, the award winning southern sloppy, tater tots, tater salad, tater skins, and a mammas salad all from Sweet Southern Funk food truck. Some of the best grub in town, Yo! I’m literally excited. ????

The “Mama’s Salad” is one of my fave salads in Asheville!

I gave “The Southern Sloppy” an award once. Sandwich of the Year 2019.

Attention Chicken Tender fans! These are some of the best chicken tenders out there.

These whole, pit-smoked chicken wings with dry curry rub were the BOMB. So much flavor and cooked just right!

Whole pit smoked BBQ chicken wings and seasoned tots. 


AVL WING THING PODCAST

DELI LLAMMMA FOOD TRUCK

Deli Llammma Food Truck is turning into my favorite food truck in town. The food is truly bangin’ and the people are the best! Thanks, Chef Chazzy, for the amazing wings and Shepherds pie empanadas! Both were awesome! And that queso is 100% fire. ?

Catawba Brewing stout glazed wings.

Seasoned tots and the fanciest crudité in this part of Appalachia!

Shepherds’ Pie empanadas, cooked just right, and packed with flavor!  The cup is full of some of the dankest queso I’ve ever had!

Word up, Chef Chazzy!


THE BIER GARDEN

I took my own advice and ordered the shepherds pie from The Bier Garden, along with some excellent wings! This food was sooooo tasty and satisfying! Thanks Bier Garden and thanks Kickbackavl for getting it to me fresh, hot, and delicious at 8:30pm! ❤️

It might not look like much int eh pictures, but that shepherds’ pie was fucking awesome! Made with Guinness infused local Carolina Bison, and a heavy hand on the black pepper, I loved it!

Now THAT’S a Buffalo wing!
