BUXTON CHICKEN PALACE AT SWASHEVILLE

Originally posted to Stu Helm: Food Fan Facebook page on 9/14/2021

Yesterday I went to the Buxton Chicken Palace inside the SWAsheville and got their fried chicken salad sandwich and a special juice beverage that was some sort of blend. Not sure. My hearing is so terrible that I couldn’t hear the description but said yes anyways. ?

BUN INTENDED AT SWASHEVILLE

Originally posted to Stu Helm: Food Fan Facebook page on 9/14/2021

I got a dee-frickin-licious pork belly bao bun from Bun Intended in the SWAsheville food court today. It was the perfect amount of food at the moment, and it was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and really hit the spot! I’m glad they’re downtown!

DYNAMITE ROASTING COMPANY

Because I drink so much coffee, I decided to have decaf every once in a while just because that seems more sane. So I bought some high-end, local, “unleaded” decaf from Dynamite Roasting Company, and it’s delicious!

SUNNY POINT CAFE

I went on a Kickbackavl breakfast junket with Jennie and Matt to Sunny Point Café last week and… yeah… it was frickin’ awesome. I almost never vary from their award winning shrimp ‘n’ grits, but I decided to go for their new steak ‘n’ eggs this time instead, and I’m glad I did! The steak was perfectly cooked, and very tender and tasty and the hash underneath was very pepper-heavy and super delicious! I’m gonna guess that the garden at Sunny Point is producing a lot of peppers right now! ? Matt got biscuits ’n’ gravy, Jennie got a breakfast burrito. Everyone was happy & satisfied! It was great to be there, they’ve expanded their outdoor seating by a lot, and it was wonderful to see our friends at Sunny Point after over a year! There were hugs.

Paddy and I went on an Asheville Food Tours lunch junket to La Bodega by Cúrate and had these awesome things! Paddy got the Food Fan Award nominated Hamburguesa Ibérica, and I got the Bocadillo de Jamón. Both were excellent! High recommends! ?❤️

So, Rick and I went a’judgin’ yesterday as special guests at the inaugural ‘Cue for a Cause BBQ throw down to benefit Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry’s Veterans Restoration Quarters. It was presented by The Plyler Team at Lusso Realty and took place at Ridgeview Venue in Leicester. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful spot, and we ate a ton of good cue! I was invited to judge a BBQ contest waaaaay out in Leicester, so I asked my buddy Rick Crelia, world’s greatest eater, to join me and judge with me, side-by-side, as one! We had one sheet, and one pen, and one mind. There were no disagreements! Rick and I were pretty much in lock-step with our opinions, plus we’re both pretty easy going, so it was like… “Should we give this one a 3?” “Yeah, 3 sounds good.” “Are you okay with 5’s all down the line on this one.” “Yeah, that’s fine with me.” It was fun! And filling! But with both of us eating the same samples, we didn’t get too ridiculously full! And there was hardly any food waste on our part!

NANI’S ROTISSERIE CHICKEN VIA KICKBACKAVL

Originally posted to Stu Helm: Food Fan Facebook page on  9/10/2021

The next stop on ?  My ? Epic ? Delivery ? Journey ? with Kickbackavl is Nani’s Rotisserie Chicken! Did you know that you do not have to get food delivered to your house, you can get it delivered anywhere! On Labor Day I was spending some time with my mom, so I ordered delivery to be brought to her house, and she was psyched! She loved the chicken salad from Nani’s, it’s her new favorite. I got a chicken salad melt that was excellent. It had cheese and bacon on it, along with Nani’s chicken salad and LTO. We also shared a salad, to which I added some pulled rotisserie chicken! This meal was awesome, and it was fun to treat my mom to delivery! ? Now I just have to remember to reset the address back to mine for the next time I order Kickback on My Epic Delivery Journey! ???????
