We are a growing company so we are looking for candidates who can grow with us by demonstrating a high capacity to learn and take on new challenges. The primary focus is to position Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. as the premier craft brewery in the minds of our consumer at special events by espousing the virtues of craft beer and motivating our customers to drink good beer more often. The Events Specialist will be responsible for the strategic execution of Sierra Nevada events and sponsorship activities in the territory of Western North Carolina. Preference will be given to qualified candidates living in the major metropolitan area of Asheville, NC. As the Events Specialist you will plan, execute and conduct follow up for the events program across several sectors with a focus on community fundraising events. You must have superior organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple projects with independent budgets at one time, meet all associated deadlines, have a demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion, be creative and solution oriented. Beer passion and knowledge are also preferred; the willingness to study for and take the Cicerone Certified Beer Server exam within the first 90-days of employment is required. This position will require you to be on your feet for long periods of time. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver 163 lb kegs safely and with proper body mechanics is required. Extensive car travel required in North Carolina, with approximately 3 nights/month overnight travel on average (some flying). The candidate must have a degree in Business/Marketing or equivalent experience, a valid driver’s license and an exemplary driving record, supported by a 3-year driver’s history report. The selected candidate will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check including a credit check.

Additional factors to consider before applying:

This is a full-time position, scheduled to work at least 40 hours per week.
Work schedule will vary based on events and business needs, requiring the ability to work evenings, weekends, early mornings and holidays.
This position requires the ability to travel up to 75% of the time, primarily via car, with peak travel from late spring to early fall.
Must have a valid driver’s license and an exemplary driving record and provide a copyof 3-year driver’s history report
