Room to Dance, a new dance club and bar, is being planned for 175 Biltmore Ave. in downtown Asheville.

The location next to Wild Wing Cafe most recently served as temporary space for the Asheville Art Museum as the museum underwent a significant makeover (complete with large addition). Before that, the building was home to Foam and Fabrics Outlet from 1973 to its closing in 2014.

According to the Room to Dance website, the new dance club ” is an idea conceived to provide a venue for older adults to come and dance to music from a variety of eras and in a variety of styles.”

The site goes on to state that “By opening at 7:00 pm, Room to Dance will provide better access to older adults and adults with children at home in the care of babysitters. Our goal is to provide a fun and friendly, yet upscale, atmosphere to the adult Asheville community, and a new experience for those visiting Asheville.”

Stay tuned for more details as it gets up and running.
