red_bull_reeb_2014Word on the street is that Red Bull is building a BMX course on 145-acre former dairy farm, property that Oskar Blues Brewing recently purchased and named Reeb Ranch, a nod to Oskar Blues’ brand of mountain bikes that it manufactures. (Reeb is “beer” spelled backwards.”) Reeb Ranch is about eight miles from the Oskar Blues brewery in Brevard.

Oskar Blues has said that is planned to build a bike park to serve different levels of riders. The park will eventually be open to the public, and Oskar Blues is partnering with Bike Farm, a mountain biking concierge company, which will guide visitors. The plan is to move Bike Farm headquarters to Reeb Ranch.

Reeb Ranch sits just outside DuPont State Forest, which along with Pisgah National Forest, has put the area (in Henderson and Tranylvania counties) on the radar with mountain biking enthusiasts from around the world. The addition of the course at Reeb Ranch, in conjunction with the trails in DuPont and Pisgah, will only intensify interest.

Details released on a Red Bull/Reeb Ranch event have not been released, but I’ve heard that an event will be coming in October. It’s clear that what’s going up on the Reeb Ranch site now is designed for professional riders – some of the jumps on the pumptrack are 30 feet tall.

UPDATE: Reader JT offers up an explanatory link via Red Bull.

Conceived by pro rider Anthony Napolitan with a course brought to life by master builder Adam Aloise, Red Bull Dreamline showcases the best of what BMX dirt competition can be.

For 2014, Red Bull Dreamline will take place on Oskar Blues REEB Ranch near Asheville, North Carolina. The most talented and progressive riders in the world will once again push their limits on jumps designed and built to showcase them at their best. Stay tuned for rider list and spectator info…

You’re an idiot. This gossip site is retarded. 30 foot tall jumps on the pumptrack? No, the dirt jumps are that tall, not the pump track. Thanks for trespassing.

Take it easy on him. How is he supposed to know the difference? What, do you expect actual research to be done here?

See that sidebar? This is all about the page clicks. More research does not make a difference when ad revenue is what is sought. ————————————————–>

No one cares about BMX. The point of the story is that Oskar Blues is growing and doing things. Even if some of them are for the clueless.

No denials yet from Oskar Blues on the rumor that this is actually going to be the Obamas back yard.

I heard they have bought the Biltmore Estate and it will be closing to the public.
