Downtown Asheville was abuzz Tuesday afternoon as a movie production crew filmed several scenes for the movie known as the Loomis Fargo flick aka the “unnamed armored car project.” The movie stars Kristen Wiig, Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson and several others.

The filming centered on the front of the BB&T building on Pack Square; the front of the Buncombe County Courthouse; and the entrance to The Med diner on College Street. Traffic and people moved fairly well around the shoots, with streets closed off and off-duty police officers directing folks. There were a good number of gawkers, but from everything I saw, folks were quiet and polite and just stood by and watched.

Here are a few photos from the first day of shooting (Tuesday) in downtown Asheville. Special thanks to @MissEmmaLee on Twitter, as well as Kathryn and Chelsea, for photo contributions.
