The Rev. Creighton Lovelace, the latest of Western North Carolina’s pastors to hit the spotlight for his outspokenness, said tonight on the local TV news that he threw the book, considered holy by millions of Muslims, to the ground and stomped it.

Lovelace, showing the crinkled book to the reporter, said he trampled the book because he couldn’t actually flush it (no word on if he actually tried). He said that because his god, Jesus, said only his word was holy, then everything else was not holy. So he stomped the book.

Lovelace, who posted this sign in Forest City in Rutherford County, also had a radio sermon ready to go, but the local AM station decided not to air it today.

What a true display of Christian tolerance. I wonder what Jesus, who is actually admired by Muslims and mentioned in the Quaran, would say about this.

Very sad that this is a Christian leader’s message to his followers.
