Note here from Liz at The Orange Peel. This sounds like a blast:

Hey Jason,

Should you need even more holiday events (!!) to post this upcoming week…we’ve got a fun one going on with LaZoom, at Pulp on Thursday night:

Kristmas with the Krektones Dec 23rd: LaZoom’s Night-time Holiday Joy Ride!

You never know what you might see on LaZoom’s 1 Hour Hoopin’ Hollarin’ Good-Time Holiday Ride!

Come along on a Joy Ride through Asheville with the ones you love while Surfin’ through the Holidays and Rocking in the New Year with The Krektones!

Thursday, December 23 ONLY! Two tours only; tix available here, or call (828) 225-6932

Rides depart from Pulp (the funky private bar downstairs @ the Orange Peel, entrance on Hilliard Ave) at 7pm and 8:15pm.  Ticket prices also get you into Pulp where their will be a DJ spinning groovy vintage holiday classsics all night, and a friendly Pulp barkeep mixing tasty libations and serving local brews.

Tickets are $14 for these fun and festive night-time rides.

Ticket holders must be 21 and up to enter Pulp and ride the bus for this event.

A word about the band:

“The Krektones blend the surf swagger of the Ventures with the scorching guitar of Link Wray and just a wee bit of Tav Falco psychobilly to make a beat that’s pretty much impossible to stand still to. The Krektones feature Jason Krekel at lead, Dave Gay on bass, and Lance Wille on drums. These instrumentalists bring a broad range of musical experience,  swinging wide from stints with The Parting Gifts, Freakwater, and The Reigning Sound, as well as some seminal Asheville bands, including the Firecracker Jazz Band, Mad Tea Party, The Unholy Trio, and White Heat. Don’t let the sequined tuxedo jackets fool you—these boys will rip it up.”

Thanks, Jason!
