Old T.S. Morrison

There was a lot of renovation work going on at the former T.S. Morrison store location on Lexington Avenue today. Word on the street is that this building is going to be converted into yet another brewery here in Ashvegas, which already has earned the moniker Brewville for all the locally made beer here.

The Beer Guy writes about the Lexington Avenue Brewery, dubbed the LAB. Here’s more from the Beer Guy:

Hopefully, LAB will be opening this year with a lineup of local beers and food and music. It takes a lot of work and a lot of money to open a brewery, but this one has moved way beyond the planning stages. Peter Cratin, one of the owners, will also be doing the brewing.

For those who are counting, that will make eight breweries for buncombe county: Asheville Pizza and Brewing, its sister Asheville Brewing, Highland Brewing, French Broad Brewing, Green Man Brewing, Pisgah Brewing in Black Mountain, Wedge Brewing and and the LAB.

We’ll have a lot more on this whole business in a story i’m working on for next week.
