oktemblem_avatar2Here’s a quick look at two fun Asheville Oktoberfest celebrations coming right up. First, Ben’s Tune-Up is holding its first Oktoberfest on Oct. 5:

Ben’s Tune-Up is hosting its first annual free Oktoberfest celebration Ben’s Tune-Up, a downtown Asheville restaurant and beer garden, will hold it’s first annual Oktoberfest Celebration on October 5, Noon-10pm; admission is FREE. Festivities get started at noon with the tapping of special Oktoberfest kegs from Heinzelmännchen of Sylva, Pisgah Brewing of Black Mountain, Highland Brewing of Asheville, Hofbräu of Munich, Germany, and Foothills Brewing of Winston Salem. There will be an assortment of festive food, pageantry, dance, and music in the biergarten throughout the day, including German polka from accordionist Steve Burnside (of Lagerhosen fame) and the joyful noise of the Asheville Second Line. Look for a hotdog eating competition (advanced registration required), horseshoes, a meet-up of local home brewers, strong-man/woman competitions, and an evening performance from Outer Banks surf rockers Eddy and The Riptides.

And this is from Hi-Wire Brewing, reminding folks of the Asheville Downtown Association’s Oktoberfest on Oct. 12:

IN OCTOBER find us at the Asheville Downtown Association’s Oktoberfest on Sat., October 12th from noon – 6pm. Tickets are still available and selling out fast! Have faith that the party WILL NOT stop after the festival proper. At 7pm that night, we’re giving away TWO of our brand new Hi-Pitch Hippo T-Shirts at the tasting room to the best dressed man and woman from Oktoberfest! So dust off your lederhosen and dirndl (so THAT’S what they call traditional German women’s clothing) and show off what you got at Hi-Wire’s tasting room.

That reminds us – if you haven’t checked out Hi-Wire’s food trucks, they’re here just about every day. You can always check what trucks are parked at our front door on twitter (@HiWireBrewing) and on our website’s Events Calendar (hiwirebrewing.com). ALSO IN OCTOBER, our beautiful neighbors at Ben’s Tune-Up are having their own Oktoberfest, one week earlier, on Sat., October 5th from noon-10pm. The occasion will be replete with accordion music, a hotdog eating contest, other Tune-Up shenanigans, and, of course, Hi-Wire’s brews! Come visit the neighbors! ALSO ALSO IN OCTOBER, Two Dolla Tuesdays at Hi-Wire! Every Tuesday in October – all Hi-Wire beers are ½ off! Clean your glasses, rub your eyes, and believe what you see…’cause it’s true! Oh, and also on Tuesday check out Video Game Night at the brewery…low-tech video game goodness on the BIG screen! Everybody’s doin’ it…
