Press release and note to follow:

Chyten Educational Services, Greater Boston’s Premier Educational Services Company, announces the opening of its new Asheville, NC Chyten Center at 1550 Hendersonville Road, Suite 104, Asheville, NC 28803. This franchise is owned & operated by Stacey and Brian Caskey. Chyten is unique in that it brings a new style curriculum, proven learning & test taking strategies with individualized one on one tutoring by tutors who all have at least a Master’s degree & teaching experience.

Hi Jason,

My wife and I just opened a tutoring business in South Asheville — it’s on Hendersonville Road just south of Carolina Day School and the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is not one of your standard tutoring services, but a service that is completely and entirely focused on improving student’s results in the classroom and on standardized tests (the average Chyten student improves by 274 points on their SAT, and they score *perfect* results at fifty times the national average).

Our tutors are required to possess a minimim of a Master’s degree — that fact alone makes Chyten unique — and they all have extensive teaching experience. We have spared no expense in the creation of a high tech, state-of-the-art facility, with a heavy focus on one-on-one tutoring.

We offer free academic advisement, discounts on our services, and unlike most other tutoring and test prep centers, we do not require that parents sign up for minimum numbers of sessions. If a child needs an hour of tutoring, they can come in and get an hour of tutoring, with no other requirements. If they need one-on-one, multiple session preparation for the AP tests, or for the ACT or the SAT (or for any other standardized test), we can match them with a tutor that will bring out their best. We also offer classes at a very affordable rate.

It’s a completely different kind of service, and one that my wife and I are certain fills a tremendous need in the community.

Stacey is a long-time teacher in the Asheville City Schools system (she is a National Board-certified teacher who has taught at Claxton Elementary for the last 10 years), while I’ve been employed at Lark Books/Sterling Publishing in Asheville for the last 14 years. We are both deeply tied to this community, and look forward to sharing our expertise (and that of our highly qualified tutors) with Asheville’s students.

Feel free to stop in, have a cup of coffee, and take a look around if you like. We’re conveniently located in the Fugazy Center (although now they’re calling it the AAA Travel Center), just south of town.

Brian
