New temporary polling locations for Election 2015 in Asheville

election_2015Heads-up voters, there are some changes you need to be aware. There are a couple of temporary polling place changes for the Oct. 6 primary election and the general election in November. There are also a couple of permanent polling place changes. From the Buncombe County Democratic Party:

New Polling Locations

TEMPORARY FOR THE 2015 MUNICIPAL PRIMARY ONLY

17.1 – During the 2015 City of Asheville October Primary, the voters of Precinct 17.1, Beth Israel Synagogue, shall be temporarily transferred to Precinct 22.2 located at Ira B. Jones School-Auditorium 544 Kimberly Avenue, Asheville.

TEMPORARY FOR THE 2015 MUNICIPAL PRIMARY & GENERAL ONLY

43.2 Johnston School – During the 2015 City of Asheville Municipal Elections, those voters living within the city limits of Asheville and residing within Precinct 43.2 shall be temporarily transferred to Precinct 16.2 located at West Asheville Library, 942 Haywood Road, Asheville.

701.1 Woodfin Community Center – During the 2015 City of Asheville Municipal Primary Elections, those voters living within the city limits of Asheville and residing within Precinct 70.1 shall be temporarily transferred to Precinct 28.1 located at Covenant Reformed Presbyterian, 281 Edgewood Road, Asheville.

56.2 Arden First Baptist – During the 2015 City of Asheville Municipal Elections, those voters living within the city limits of Asheville and residing within Precinct 56.2 shall be temporarily transferred to Precinct 19.1 located at Skyland Fire Department, 9 Miller Road, Skyland.

PERMANENT CHANGES

20.1 Move from 35 Woodfin Street – that pursuant to North Carolina General Statutes 163-130.1, First Congregational Church, 20 Oak Street, Asheville, will be the new voting location for Precinct 20.1.

14.3 Move from Eliada Homes: That pursuant to North Carolina General Statutes 163-128, Land of Sky Regional Council, 339 New Leicester Highway, Suite 140, Asheville, North Carolina will be the new voting location for Precinct 14.3.
