odds_cafe_2014A new coffee shop called Odd’s Cafe is in the works along Haywood Road in West Asheville, in the building next to the former Digable Pizza building. From the Odd’s Cafe page on Facebook:

The journey begins…for real this time! With construction on its way, Odd’s Cafe should be open spring 2014. Keep your fingers crossed!

I’m tracking down more detail.

The new business action on Haywood Road in West Asheville was a big story from last year, and it looks like the business boom is rolling on. There’s a new barbecue restaurant in the works at the Haywood Quick Stop, and much more. Here’s a recap:

Restaurants in the works along Haywood Road but not yet open: Nine Mile West, King Daddy’s Chicken & Waffles, the doughnut shop Hole and Buffalo Nickel restaurant. Owners of the Asheville Sandwich Shop bought the former Digable Pizza building and announced plans for a new eatery there.

Any plans with the space behind the building? There appears to be another building in the back.

That’s right Jason. Beauty Parade and the U-Joint will soon have new neighbors. Odd’s Café will be a coffee bar for those crazy local folks, the fast-paced commuter drive-byes, and the late night/date night crowd. We will specialize in high quality, all natural seasonal products including the best coffees, teas, and locally baked desserts.

Look for our opening this spring 2014! Until then, enjoy the follies of the Odd’s crew as we stumble along this journey of getting the café up and running by following us at http://www.facebook.com/OddsCafe.
