Changes are continuing along a section of Merrimon Avenue that has seen other recent development. merrimon_art_gallery_2014

The property at 348 Merrimon Ave. recently sold for $350,000. It is near the new Moe’s restaurant, which looks like it is about to open. The buyer is the same developer as the Moe’s property.merrimon_building_1_2014

Also nearby is this building (above) which is undergoing a major renovation. Word on the street is that it is going to be transformed into a high-end art gallery.

In this same section of Merrimon, the market Dough opend at 372 Merrimon; Frazier’s Tavern took over for another bar at 389 Merrimon and Bar of Soap, the laundromat/book shop/restaurant, opened at 333 Merrimon. All this over the past three two or three years.

And of course we are all familiar with the big changes along Merrimon just a bit closer to town: A new Trader Joe’s opened next door to a new Harris Teeter last year, with a new Chick-fil-A opening next door to the HT just a couple weeks back. And there’s more development coming to that Teeter complex.

Same owners own four contiguous properties, so what Sean says makes sense.

It’s going to be a combo pizza hut/taco bell. Confirmed.

I’m hearing that the 348 Merrimon location is going to be an apartment/retail complex. Apparently the property is deeper than it appears from Merrimon.
