The craft beer train rolls on. While Asheville and Buncombe County remains the center of the Western North Carolina craft beer scene (there are no fewer than 10 craft breweries in the works), there’s plenty happening in the hinterlands. Here’s the full press release:
Marshall’s first downtown brewery is looking to open its tasting room mid October. But for starters, it will be serving guest taps while they await a federal brewing permit.
Mad Co Brewing, located at 45 North Main Street, next to the Fire Department, is the first of its kind in Historic Downtown Marshall and Madison County. Mad Co Brewing is as small family owned brewery.
The brewery has over 3,000 square feet of space including; a covered patio, tasting room, a back deck overlooking the French Broad River, Blahnasset Island & the rail line. The building was completely rebuilt to highlight Historic Downtown Marshall, and its quaint main street and arts community. The building also features a historic Dr. Pepper mural on the covered patio.
As Asheville & Buncombe County continue to grow many young families are moving to Madison County, known as the Jewel of the Blue Ridge. Owner Brandon Edwards said “the regional beauty combined with the people is a win win for any business wanting to come to Madison County”.
Mad Co Brewing will be a small craft brewery and will also be offering 15-20 guest taps. Mad Co Brewing plans to have a simple food menu consisting of bratwursts.
