LEAF Proudly Announces Their 35th Festival Performing Arts Lineup

LEAF | Lake Eden Arts Festival is excited to announce the Performing Arts lineup for Fall LEAF 2012, taking place October 18-21, 2012 in Black Mountain, NC. Headliners for the 35th festival include The Mickey Hart Band, a global folk rock supergroup led by the percussionist of the Grateful Dead; Saharan Desert blues ensemble TinariwenThe Tony Rice Unit, led by the bluegrass guitar legend; Canadian folk songstresses The Be Good Tanyas, and New Orleans funk forefather George Porter Jr. and the Runnin’ Pardners.

Once again, LEAF’s performing arts passport will take you all over the world: the kelly green hills of Ireland [The Fighting Jamesons]; the music industry capital of Nashville, Tennessee [Darrell Scott]; the East African plateau of Uganda [Kinobe & The African Sensation]; the central Asian region of Tuva [Chirgilchin]; and right back to LEAF’s own Western NC backyard [Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band.] Combining the diversity of names and faces you’ve come to love at LEAF with a myriad of dancing [Contra, Salsa, Swing, Waltz], poetry & puppetry slams, folk art & craft exhibitions, outdoor adventure, and the LEAFlet Kid’s Village [a festival in and of itself], LEAF never ceases to offer new and exciting cultural connections.
