i_26_signFrom the Asheville Design Center newsletter:

Please plan to attend a May 12 public meeting to review DOT’s latest maps of the I-26 Connector Project in Asheville. Plans for a new alternative, Alternative 3-C, will be available for inspection.

What: DOT Public Meeting on I-26 Connector alternatives
When: May 12, 4-7 p.m.
Where: Renaissance Hotel, 31 Woodfin St., Asheville

This meeting is the last before DOT completes the environmental impact study early next year, so come look and ask questions and tell them what you want to see.

Ask DOT specifically about bicycle/pedestrian aspects of the project, how their designs advance the local plans adopted by the City of Asheville, and design options to shrink the footprint of the project to better protect neighborhoods.

See you there!

Background here on the latest connector route proposal.

They need to stop asking for questions and build the highway. End of story.
