As Hurricane Isaac churns toward the Louisiana coast, gas prices here in the mountains are rising quickly. Monday on my street, gas prices were up to $3.71 a gallon. NPR this morning noted that gas prices could hit the $3.80 mark by the end of the week.

From CNN:

Gas prices continued to climb — particularly along the Gulf Coast — as the approach of Tropical Storm Isaac forced the closure of many oil and refining facilities.

A survey for the motorist group AAA showed that the national price for a gallon of regular gas crept up 0.6 cent to $3.756 in Tuesday’s reading.
