horse_and_hero_2_2014Horse and Hero, a new downtown shop in the works by the creators of Asheville’s popular Big Crafty, will feature indy crafts, baked goods by Short Street Cakes in West Asheville, and artwork by Asheville folk artist Gabriel Shaffer.

Brandy Bourne and Justin Rabuck are putting the shop together at 14 Patton Avenue. (The location was the long-time home of A Dancer’s Place, just down the hill from Farm Burger.) I’ve reached out asking for more details.

Rabuck told me Thursday afternoon that he sees the shop as an extension of the Big Crafty, the twice-a-year celebration of local, handmade arts and crafts. Rabuck said he’s hard at work getting the shop fixed up for business, and expected a best-case-scenario opening of April or May.

Exciting news for Crafty crew. Congratulations!
