Alright then – why the anger towards my post?

To me (and this is my opinion), it seems West Asheville's theme has been more of the environmentally conscious and not supportive of projects that would be harmful to the environment. that is EXACTLY what I meant to say.

I don't think West Asheville is an "oasis" or better than any other part of Asheville, BUT it is definitely a unique area different than many other areas of Asheville. You misinterpreted my message entirely.

That's like me saying, "Oh I hate it when people from Culver City, CA near LA think of it as an "oasis" or some private devlopment. Honestly, Culver City isn't all that!"

Westside Munchie Machine is an independent business that offers delivery for W.Asheville restaurants (some of which would otherwise would not have a delivery option). Win-Win. Like any other service, some people will use it & some people will bemoan its existence in online comments. I say be happy!! 🙂

Also, what is up w/ people & the anonymity of spewing haterade on the interwebs? There's just no need for negatively — ie, posting a link to a competitor's website, I'm guessing not because you've tried both services, but b/c you have a knee-jerk negative reaction to seeing a business for the first time.

Nowhere on the site does it say that Westside Munchie Machine is a FOOD TRUCK. This business delivers food from WEST ASHEVILLE RESTAURANTS to customers within West Asheville. Why the hate? What is there to disagree with? It's an independent venture that helps OTHER West Asheville businesses. Asheville is more than a 1-horse town & it's perfectly ok that *gasp* more than one business is now within the restaurant delivery category.

As for the late night option, try Sweet B's Late Night Delivery: http://sweetbdelivers.com/ It's the same people, just different hours b/c the aim of the late night service is to keep drunk drivers off the roads.

Tell us, Goodfella, what EXACTLY does west Asheville represent? Its funny how those who live on the west side think they live in some private development or island oasis and are too good for the rest of Asheville. Honestly, West Asheville isnt all that.
Try a great little delivery service called 'Valet Gourmet' that delivers all over Asheville from good, local Asheville restaurants.
"West Side Munchie Machine" is nothing original or special. There is the exact same thing in Culver City, CA near L.A. that has been in business forever, and when I lived there it rocked out hard with good food. It likely won't be long before the Asheville one gets sued for copyright infringement.

Valet Gourmet has been doing this for what about 7-8 years now? I think I'll stick with them. Always professional folks doing a good job and you can get a delivery pretty much anywhere in Buncombe County.

This is not a food truck. As it clearly states all over its own advertisement and press release, it is a delivery service. They are not remotely the same thing.

I'm all about supporting local business, but this idea seems like it is the opposite of what West Asheville represents. If you live in West Asheville (like I do) most of the restaurants are within walking distance – why would I support a gas guzzling venture when I could still support the local businesses and my health by walking?

Perhaps if this was done by bicycle, it would be the best of both worlds. I wish the best of luck to this business and to all local businesses.

Also, for it to be advertised as Westside Munchie Machine, you would think that the business hours would go late into the evening since that is when most people get the munchies? I'm just sayin…
